One Dead, Eight Injured in Wisconsin Crash
One person is dead and eight others were injured in a crash in Edgerton last Sunday night.

The crash occurred on I-39/90 SB close to mile marker 165 at about 11:30 p.m.
According to an article by WKOW, authorities say a 2003 Chevrolet Venture van was traveling Southbound when the driver lost control.
“The van entered the median making contact with the guard wire,” the article reads. “The vehicle then exited the median coming to a rest across the right lane facing west with no lights on. A southbound Dodge Sprinter van traveling near highway speeds did not see the now disabled vehicle in the right lane and hit the passenger side of the vehicle.”
Eight people were reportedly taken to Mercy Hospital in Janesville with various injuries. The driver of the Venture was reportedly dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the van was treated by EMS at the scene and released. The article does not release the name of the injured people or the person who was killed. There’s also no mention of whether or not someone was charged with anything in connection to the crash.
Southbound I-39/90 was closed for several hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol was investigating the crash.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s website shows there have been 34 fatalities on Wisconsin roads so far this month. Sixty-one people died on Wisconsin roads in July and 371 people have been killed so far this year. Last year, 338 people were killed on Wisconsin roads according to the DOT.
