A Union Grove man lost his wife on Tuesday afternoon in a traffic crash in the Town of Yorkville.

According to a news article by Mount Pleasant Patch, the crash occurred when the driver of another vehicle failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn in the Town of Yorkville, Sheriff’s officials said.

“On Tuesday August 30, at 2:27 pm, the Racine County Communications Center received 911 calls for two vehicles involved in an accident in the 1500 block of S. Sylvania Ave. in the Town of Yorkville,” the article reads. “Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and found two occupants from one of the vehicles involved were severely injured. The injured parties were a married couple from the Village of Union Grove. The injured couple was transported by rescue to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.”

The husband did sustain serious injuries as a result of the crash, but they were not life threatening. The wife did not survive her injuries and passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital.

No other information was released in the article, including whether or not the driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries or is facing charges for failing to yield.
