Two women were killed in a crash on State 80 last Tuesday afternoon in Dexter, Wisconsin, according to various media reports.

According to Wisconsin authorities, both of the women were from the Juneau County town of New Lisbon.

“Barbara Baldwin, 71, of New Lisbon, was driving the car that was involved in a head-on crash with an SUV driven by a 30-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man, Wood County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Shawn Becker is quoted as saying in an article posted on the Daily Tribune website Wednesday. “Wood County Coroner Dara Hamm pronounced Baldwin and one of her two passengers, Louise Hemenway, 74, of New Lisbon, dead at the scene of the crash.”

A third passenger in Baldwin’s car, a 72-year-old Fallon, Missouri, woman received injuries critical enough to be taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The 30-year-old driver of the SUV was also taken by helicopter to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

“The Wisconsin Rapids man was expected to be released on Wednesday,” the article reads.

No information was available on the condition of the 72-year-old woman who was injured in the crash, as of late Wednesday afternoon.

The article does not mention who was at fault in the crash or whether anyone would face charges as a result of the incident.

The crash is still under investigation.
