Two people were killed last Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 14 in Rock County.According to various media reports, the crash occurred in the Janesville area and reportedly killed both drivers.

“The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says a 75-year-old woman from Janesville lost control of her pickup truck on U.S. Highway 14 Monday afternoon,” an article by WLUC reads. “Her vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with another truck driven by a 57-year-old man from Davis, Illinois.”

The man was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was flown to a hospital in Madison, where she was pronounced dead on the same day of the crash, later in the evening.

The Rock County Wisconsin medical examiner’s office released Wednesday afternoon the names of the two people killed.

“Authorities say 57-year-old Bradley Britt of Davis, Illinois and 75-year-old Carolyn Rhodes of Janesville, Wisconsin were both killed when the two trucks they were driving crashed on Highway 14 near Janesville Monday afternoon,” an article by WREX reads. “The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred on US-14 near North River Road shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday. Officials say it was a head-on collision.”

Traffic on the highway had to be rerouted for about five hours due to the crash.

Various media reports suggest that speed is not thought to be a factor in the incident. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
